SUNSETS NEVER WAIT

A full-feature film project.

Ireland, 1981. James Dunford is at a dead end. His marriage has failed, legal proceedings from his brother over his father’s estate have turned sour, and he is haunted by the memories of a close friend’s violent final moments in Vietnam. He has returned to Connemara – a land of desolate and sad beauty – to rent the cottage where he spent his childhood summers. Locals are confused…why would anyone wish to rent in a place like this during the bleakness of Winter? But unknown to them, he is harboring a deadly secret: after he makes some repairs to the cottage, he intends on ending his life.

Across the road in his Grandmother’s old house is a woman burdened by a past of her own. Tara Doherty is hiding in the Republic from IRA mercenaries over a botched plan that killed her beloved husband. Racked by grief and anxiety, Tara is a woman in turmoil. But a gentle romance begins to flourish between them, offering both a chance at redemption and, ultimately, survival.

Featuring moving performances and set against an otherworldly landscape made famous in films from John Wayne to Star Wars, “Sunsets Never Wait” is a story about loss, atonement, and the love that can save us all.
