Ireland, 1981. James Dunford is at a dead end. His marriage has failed, legal proceedings from his brother over his father’s estate have turned sour, and he is haunted by the memories of a close friend’s violent final moments in Vietnam. He has returned to Connemara – a land of desolate and sad beauty – to rent the cottage where he spent his childhood summers.
